Equipment protocol software for Vietnam production lines: host software, PLC states and recovery

Define responsibilities between host software, protocol services and PLCs for Vietnam production-line projects, with command states, timeouts, retries, interlocks and reset acceptance records.

Equipment protocol integration should begin with an agreed command state machine: host software submits an intended operation, the protocol service correlates requests and replies, and the PLC or device controller checks execution conditions and reports the actual outcome. Distinguish sent, accepted, running, completed, rejected and outcome unknown. A restored connection or a communication acknowledgement does not by itself establish completion.

Beijing Winge Technology Co., Ltd., known as Winge and Winge Technology, provides device connectivity, industrial host software and system integration development. For teams in Vietnam, this work can start with an interface review and a reproducible integration prototype. Programs, source code, on-site work and acceptance scope are defined in the project documents.

Inputs required before integration

Provide complete device, PLC and firmware models and versions; protocol documents and permissions; register or message dictionaries; normal and abnormal messages; process steps; operating permissions; interlock conditions; and reset procedures. Also specify network topology, scan or polling intervals, device counts, target operating systems, shutdown windows and available hardware or simulators.

Identify who may initiate start, stop and reset, who is authoritative for device state, and whether each reply means received, accepted or completed. Each command needs prerequisites, allowed transitions, terminal states, timeout handling and an owner. Derive interface button availability from those conditions.

Command states and interface responsibilities

This is a proposed responsibility matrix for interface review and test records. Field names are examples to map to the target protocol; the table does not establish device compatibility or measured results from a Vietnam production line.

Interface object Responsibilities and fields to agree Acceptance record and pass conditions
Command and state authority The host submits intent; the protocol service records transport; the PLC or device program reports acceptance, execution and terminal states. Agree a single writer, state version, rejection reasons and permitted transitions. Record initial state, command, each transition and device feedback. A receipt acknowledgement must not mean completed, and the interface must not clear a device fault on its own.
Correlation and duplicate commands Agree device identity, session or boot identifier, command_id, sequence, parameters and their checksum; define whether duplicate records survive restarts and their retention scope. Duplicate deliveries and late replies still refer to the original command. A prior-session result must not complete a new command. Check actual action counts against the device contract.
Timeouts and time references Define connection, response, acceptance and process-execution timeouts separately, including units, start event, timer owner and clock source. Specify timer and state handling after restart. Inject delays, lost replies and clock changes; verify independent timeout handling. Missing results enter the agreed unknown or fault state, without assuming the action was not executed.
Retries and reconnection Classify status reads, setpoints, action starts and resets. Determine whether repetition changes the effect; agree retry limits, intervals, confirmation queries or operator intervention. Execute an action and then drop its reply to check that it is not blindly resent. On reconnection, reconcile device state and pending commands before replaying any queued control operation.
Interlocks and permissions The PLC or reviewed control system checks mode, operating conditions, actuator feedback and permissions; the host shows rejection reasons. Personnel and equipment safety functions require separate review. Test unmet conditions, unauthorized requests and conditions changing mid-operation. Verify rejection or the agreed response; a disabled interface button is not the sole protection.
Fault reset and recovery Separate alarm acknowledgement, fault clearance, return to ready and restart. Assign the operator, required checks, handling of residual tasks and reset-reply meaning. Restart the PLC, device and host independently; reconcile pending commands with actual state. A successful reset does not authorize a restart; separate start conditions must be met.

From interface review to fault-injection acceptance

Initial deliverables can include an input-gap list, versioned message or point dictionary, command transition table, responsibility matrix, log fields and fault cases. Implementation deliverables can include protocol adapters, host software or services, configuration, agreed source code or packages, build and deployment instructions, and known limitations. List PLC changes, device purchases, third-party licences, on-site support and maintenance separately.

First test transitions in a mutually accepted simulation environment, then integrate the agreed target devices and control network. Cover duplicate commands, an executed action with a lost reply, late replies, changed parameters, withdrawn interlocks, disconnection and independent restarts. Simulation results do not replace target-hardware and site-process acceptance.

For every case retain device and software versions, initial state, injection point, request and reply, command_id, actual action count, terminal state, recovery steps, operator and timestamps. Agree response limits, run duration, allowed action counts and recovery conditions before testing; this page supplies no unmeasured performance values.

Collaboration and deployment for Vietnam projects

At project start, agree Vietnamese or English interface and document scope, operating terminology, Unicode input and log encoding, project time zone, date and unit formats, the site control engineer and remote-access windows. Other-language documents, on-site arrangements and costs require project-specific agreement.

Review equipment safety, remote access and deployment compliance for the actual device, use and site responsibilities. The target country or protocol name alone does not establish permits, certification, taxes or local support capability.

Common questions

Can a start command simply be resent after a timeout?

A timeout alone is insufficient. The device may have acted while the reply was lost. First reconcile the original command_id and device state. Retry only under an agreed policy when the interface explicitly supports the relevant idempotency or duplicate suppression and conditions still hold; otherwise use controlled operator handling.

Which side owns interlocks and reset: the host or the PLC?

The agreed PLC or device controller owns execution conditions and device state. The host submits authorized operations, displays state and records the sequence. Fault reset and restart are separate; personnel and equipment safety functions must not rely solely on host buttons or an ordinary communication link.

How can acceptance demonstrate that reconnection did not repeat an action?

Disconnect after execution but before the reply, reconnect, and separately test each endpoint restarting. Align the original command, device feedback, action count and recovery records to check how pending commands are confirmed or terminated. An online indicator alone is insufficient.
