Engineering guide

For scanned PDF ingestion for a knowledge base procurement, check the inputs, evidence and unresolved items below before selecting an approach. Assign owners and acquisition methods for missing documents; a demonstration alone does not establish compatibility or performance.

Prepare representative documents first

List file formats, sizes, counts, scanned-page proportions, image quality and update frequency. Include normal, blank, damaged, duplicate and OCR-dependent samples. Provide fixed questions with verifiable original locations, including questions that the documents do not answer.

Acceptance matrix

Swipe the table horizontally to view all columns.

Task How to describe the acceptance condition
Ingestion Trace each specified-format sample to its parsing status, failure cause and index status.
OCR Check key fields and source pages for specified scans and record errors and correction methods.
Source retrieval Record retrieved fragments, files and page or location information for fixed questions, and allow inspection of the original.
Permissions Permitted roles can access the intended documents; denied roles cannot bypass restrictions through search, preview, download or direct interfaces.
Updates and deletion Synchronize document changes with indexes, results and access behavior within the agreed time.
Generated answers, if included Keep answers consistent with their references and define handling for missing or insufficient evidence.

These are acceptance-design examples. Agree sample counts, thresholds and timing for the actual documents and deployment; no fixed accuracy is assumed.

Check data flows for local deployment

Check the locations of original files, OCR, embeddings, vector storage, retrieval, generative models, logs and backups separately. Opening a local interface does not establish local processing. Confirm third-party licenses and operating responsibilities.

Permissions cannot rely solely on hiding frontend features. Request a user-document-operation matrix and test retrieval and file interfaces with a low-privilege account. Vector search filters form only part of application authorization.

Distinguish retrieval from business agents

For read-only retrieval, review the original Chinese knowledge application service. Model-based workflows and managed actions belong to the original Chinese enterprise agent service. Existing-tool integration requires separate interface, authorization and confirmation scope under the original Chinese MCP service.

Case reference and procurement output

The original Chinese local knowledge-base case illustrates document processing, OCR, source retrieval and member permissions. It does not establish arbitrary-scale performance, answer quality or autonomous business actions.

Procurement output should include samples, a permissions matrix, test questions, deployment components and versions, deliverables, test records and known limitations. List missing inputs before fixing development and quotation scope.

Procurement checklist

Swipe the table horizontally to view all columns.

Item Inputs and checks Decision boundary
Deployment and data flow List processing locations and dependencies for originals, OCR, indexes and logs A local interface does not establish that all processing is local
Layout samples Provide multi-column, table, rotated-page and failed-recognition samples Agree reading order, table handling and correction scope against the samples
Source inspection Specify file-level, page-level or region-level references Region highlighting requires suitable OCR output and is not assumed

What inputs are needed before starting?

De-identified scans, sample OCR output, fixed test questions, a permissions matrix and deployment conditions. Check document versions and availability first and retain missing items as unresolved inputs.

How should delivery and acceptance be defined?

Use fixed file versions to test normal, failed and cross-page content, updates, deletions and denied access; retain the reference path. Passing ingestion and source-reference checks does not establish answer accuracy; test retrieval, access control and generated answers separately.

Enterprises in Beijing, China, can submit these inputs for remote review. Agree prototype integration, sample shipment, site work and associated costs for the specific project.

Review the service scope and submit the project inputs before agreeing on development and delivery. Original Chinese service scope
