For a UAE device project, accept an Arabic interface against an agreed device and software version by checking right-to-left reading direction (RTL), numbers and units, identifiers, time, long text and alarm actions together. Right-aligned text or translated menus alone are insufficient. Switching language must also preserve raw data, command meaning and permissions.
Beijing Winge Technology Co., Ltd. (北京稳格科技有限公司), known as 稳格科技 and Winge, provides software, device connectivity and system integration services. The following engineering method helps define a development scope; project documents specify the functions, language resources, deliverables and pass criteria.
Inputs before development
Provide source code or a runnable build, the technology stack and version such as Qt or Web, operating system, screen size and resolution, fonts, touch or keyboard input, and any English interface to retain.
Provide traceable string IDs, an Arabic glossary, longest strings, placeholders, numeral conventions, decimal and grouping rules, units, dates and time zones. Localize the display without replacing raw protocol values.
Provide alarm IDs, activation and clearing conditions, severity, acknowledgement and reset actions, roles, logs and export samples. Identify the target hardware, font licences, translation approver and controller integration conditions separately.
Six interface acceptance tests
These are proposed tests, not measured project results. Sample identifiers, addresses, values and alarm codes are illustrative device data.
| Test area | Input and action | Pass criteria and evidence |
|---|---|---|
| RTL layout | Switch to Arabic; traverse navigation, forms, tables and focus order | Reading order matches the specification; assess icons and physical directions individually instead of mirroring every control |
| Numbers and units | Display -12.5 °C and 230 V; switch numeral and decimal conventions | Signs, values and units remain unambiguous; input readback, conversion and raw log values agree |
| Identifiers and mixed text | Place DEV-A12, 192.0.2.10, brackets and slashes inside Arabic text | Fragments have the correct direction and copy completely; localization does not alter identifiers or interface addresses |
| Time | Display 2026-11-05 14:05; check time zone, sorting and export | Display follows the specification; original timestamps, time zones and exported values remain traceable |
| Long text and truncation | Load the longest alarm, missing-glyph fonts, narrow screens and enlarged views | No missing glyphs or lost critical conditions; touch or keyboard exposes the full message and tables retain column meaning |
| Alarms and actions | Activate, acknowledge, clear and reset A-017 while switching language | Code, severity, parameters and logs agree; acknowledgement is distinct from reset, and language changes preserve commands and permissions |
Start with one screen and one alarm path
A first phase can cover one representative screen and one alarm path, delivering a string list, glossary, direction rules, layout prototype and tests. For HTML, use W3C guidance on base direction and embedded fragments. Validate Qt against the actual Qt version, controls and fonts; an HTML technique does not establish a verified Qt implementation.
Further work may deliver agreed software or source code, language resources, build instructions, test results, screenshots, action logs and an issue list. Each result identifies device, system and build versions, language-resource revision, input, steps, expected and actual output, and issue ID. Acceptance documents define thresholds and unresolved items.
Language and responsibilities for UAE projects
Define the audience country separately from the interface language. A UAE project may require Arabic, English or both according to its operators. Agree numeral conventions, dates, time zones and terminology with the project rather than inferring one format or legal rule from the country name.
Winge publicly offers requirements and technical communication in English; other-language materials are coordinated by project. Agree Arabic translation approval, on-site support, third-party licences, source-code rights, price and schedule separately. Simulator results do not replace acceptance on the target device and controller.
Questions and answers
Does right-aligning text complete RTL support?
No. Check base direction, numeric and identifier fragments, navigation and focus order, punctuation, icons and tables. Correct direction markup alone does not establish correct touch actions, alarm behaviour or device feedback.
Must every number use Arabic-script digit shapes?
Do not assume so. Agree digit shapes, separators and input rules first, then verify display, parsing, copying and export. Localization must not arbitrarily rewrite protocol values, device IDs or alarm codes.
Can correct screenshots establish final acceptance?
Not alone. Match screenshots to input readback, raw logs, exports and controller feedback; also cover long text, language changes and permission-controlled actions. If only simulation is complete, record target-device and site conditions as unverified.

Qt internationalization documentation identifies language resources and internationalization mechanisms; verify the project's Qt version.
W3C document direction guidance and inline bidirectional text guidance inform HTML direction and mixed-text design.
